Breathe and Move is a safe space for people living with chronic and invisible illness to be truly heard. Real stories. No agenda. No judgment. Completely anonymous if you choose.
Share Your StoryMy name is Adrian McDonald. I am a retired Respiratory Therapist from the state of Georgia and a State Captain for the COPD Foundation. I spent my career working in hospitals across Georgia and as a Clinical Specialist dedicated to keeping people out of the hospital.
What I discovered was a profound need for something far beyond what the medical system provides. Insurance companies rule healthcare. Hospitals focus on preventing readmissions. And patients — real people — are left cycling through a broken system until there is nothing left.
Now retired, I have dedicated my life to advocating for those living with chronic conditions, helping as many people as I possibly can by providing a breath of fresh air — without charging a dime. These people have a voice. Breathe and Move exists to amplify it.
An invisible illness is any chronic illness, disease, or disorder that cannot be seen just by looking at someone. You cannot tell by looking at these people that they are struggling — and that invisibility is part of the pain.
Many living with invisible illness suffer from more than one condition — for a lifetime, with little to no options for a cure or true symptom management. They deserve to be seen.
With every cycle, the condition worsens. The time between hospital stays shortens. Quality of life diminishes. Many lose their jobs. Many cannot afford medications. Many turn to internet forums because nowhere else listens.
We can do better. And we will.
